Under general supervision this person will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection in support of the Quality Management System. This job requires working knowledge of the Quality Management System GMPs and experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other regulated environment. Employees in this job classification will coordinate activities with other departments and work on both individual and team-based tasks. This includes completing, reviewing and maintaining records, handling non-conforming materials, and participating in the Corrective and Preventative Action process. The job requires documentation processing such as Certificates of Conformance, Quality Assurance procedures, and work instructions. This job class requires knowledge of engineering methods and the ability to read and interpret product work instructions, method sheets, customer drawings and written standards/specifications.
* Review method sheets, customer drawings, schematics, and IPC-A-610 standards to inspect circuit boards, cables and mechanical assemblies.
* Perform mechanical quality inspections on incoming, in-process and finished goods or materials.
* Perform quality inspections on first articles, new products and revised versions of existing product.
* Accept or reject inspected items according to the product specifications and perform data entry in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
* Handle non-conforming material per procedures and disposition as appropriate and/or instructed by the Material Review Board or the customer.
* Analyze root cause of non-conforming products and material and work with management to correct identified issues per the Corrective and Preventative Action procedures.
* Inspect RMA returns, establish dispositions as appropriate, and maintain the data.
* Coordinate with distribution for the shipment of accepted product and finished goods items to customer.
* Complete, review, and maintain documents and records as required by policy, procedure, standards, and/or customers. This includes: production records, customer documentation, product information, certificates, logs, and QA documentation and records.
* Perform process audits as assigned to assure policies and procedures are being followed and compliant to all applicable standards and regulations.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associates degree in Electronic Manufacturing or similar technical discipline preferred;
Three or more years of experience in inspection and production/manufacturing;
Working knowledge and experience in an ISO 9001 environment; ISO 13485 is a plus;
Ability to read and interpret drawings and customer specifications
Knowledge of IPC-A-610, component and value marking, color codes, and mechanical inspection techniques, is a plus
Computer literacy including skills in using basic business computing tools for calendaring, spreadsheets, presentations, and flowcharting.
Oral communications skills to present plans and findings to various audiences including Company management, suppliers, vendors and customers; and to deliver formal training;
Ability to lead and facilitate projects and participate in a cross-functional team environment;
Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Effective writing skills using business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
Flexibility in responding to changing work priorities and handling multiple projects at the same time;
Ability to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests, and judgment to escalate appropriately;
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and clients.
Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills.

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:
Walking and standing on the production floor (50-70%)
Viewing computer monitor requiring close vision (40-60%)
Bend, stoop, and lift (up to 25 pounds) (5-15%)
Most of the work is performed in a warehouse or distribution environment with forklifts, material handling and production equipment, and exposure to hot or cold, depending on external weather conditions. The remainder of work is performed in a business office environment.
Some travel is required to other site locations within 100 miles.
