Alta Planning + Design is seeking an engineering professional in the field of transportation engineering for our SE region. This is a unique opportunity for an engineering professional to take a key role working on high-profile active transportation projects in the Southeast and across the US. This position can work from several of our SE offices including Durham, Greenville, Atlanta and West Palm Beach.
As an Engineering Associate you'll contribute to the production of high-quality, accurate and complete design documents, reports and analyses. You'll solidify Alta's reputation as a trusted advisor and expert, and be an integral part of the growth and leadership of Alta's engineering team.

We're seeking a professional who has knowledge of, and interest in, the field of active transportation, has a solid understanding of the engineering process, particular as it relates to transportation, and is looking for the next challenge in their career. As an Engineering Associate at Alta, you have at least a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; you've worked for at least eight (8) years as a transportation engineer in a consulting environment or public entity, and three (3) years of project management experience, with experience preparing plans, specifications, and estimates. You will also an in-depth knowledge of NACTO, MUTCD, ADA and various DOT design requirements, and are proficient in MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro/SimTraffic or similar.
