Carmel Area Wastewater District is currently accepting applications for the position of Associate Engineer.
The District is seeking a hands-on, highly accountable, and motivated individual with experience in facility, plant, and equipment maintenance. Oversight will include mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, grounds, maintenance, repair, operation, construction, and inspection tasks in connection with operating and maintaining facilities, properties, and equipment of the District’s wastewater treatment plant and collection system.
Supervises the Maintenance Dept staff of 4. Implements and maintains both CMMS and RCM programs. Experience with major capital improvement projects and budgeting is imperative. The Associate Engineer will have a collaborative approach to managing staff and problem solving. The ideal candidate for this position will support a culture and work ethic that promotes best practices in wastewater treatment and water reclamation.
4 years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in civil, sanitary, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Must have lead or supervisory experience planning, assigning, directing and reviewing the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. Relatable experience desired from one or more of the following trades: wastewater, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process control, or structural maintenance.
Desirable certifications: Registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration in either civil or mechanical engineering.
This is an "at will" management position that will provide recommendations and report directly to the General Manager.
