Position Summary: Support the Continuous Improvement initiatives through technical expertise, use of problem solving techniques and quality systems analysis. Facilitate Kaizen Events to drive improvement to processes, reduce waste and eliminate errors to ensure sustainability and effectiveness against company/quality standards and profitability.
Position Responsibilities: Continuous Improvement • Facilitate Kaizen Events to ensure deliverables are achieved. • Create Process Flow Charts/Value Stream Maps to ensure seamless flow of business interaction. • Create and analyze charts to support events. • Weekly report of project status. • Identify and report issues or trends based on data or valid sources. • Promote use of rootcause problem solving tools, teach and mentor associates to improve product/process quality. • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees and peers through interpersonal skills and timely communication. • Act as a change agent in a fast paced environment.
Management System – (Process Performance) • Actively participate in internal process audits
Management System – (Documentation) • Develop quality procedures and documentation to support requirements.
Other • Maintains neat and orderly work area and sets the example for others to follow. • Wears required safety glasses and other PPE as required; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Manager. • Performs other duties as required by Manager.
Essential Skills and Experience: • Must be familiar with use of LEAN tools (DMAIC, Visual Management, 6S, 8-Wastes, fishbone, etc). Green belt preferred. Min 2-5 years of leading improvement projects and boots-on-the ground working knowledge of LEAN. Must be able to build relationship, credibility and influence. • Intermediate to advance knowledge of statistics required. • Must have basic understanding of business processes. • Knowledgeable of ISO 9001 or TS 16949 requirements highly desired with previous audit experience. • Excellent verbal and written skills required. • Advance computer skills required. (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint) • Previous project management skills required. Self-disciplined, self-motivated and on task objective with high quality output. • Must have good problem-solving skills and take initiative to resolve and interact with others. Active listening with critical thinking skills needed. • Must be able to travel to other facilities where needed. • Must be a team player, cooperative, and have a good attendance record. • Furniture exposure a bonus but not necessary.
