Careers at the Applied Research Laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University What YOU Will Do… You will: Prepare and execute hydrodynamic testing at ARL and other government testing facilities; design test articles; write, develop, and submit proposals for funded research; cultivate positive relationships with existing and potential government and industry sponsors; collaborate with other research and academic faculty; and document research activities in technical reports. What YOU Need to be Successful… This position can be filled as either a non-tenure track Research Faculty position or R&D Engineer and typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree or PhD preferred) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a discipline with fluid dynamics emphasis (Physics, Engineering Science, etc.) plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a mid-level position. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for a higher level position. Preferred experience: Required experience/skills: You will be subject to a government security investigation and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
