The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is recruiting nationally for a highly innovative and experienced transformational leader to serve as Executive Director and manage its water/wastewater and drainage systems with significant capital expansion projects and complex operational activities. Reporting to the SWBNO Board of Directors, this at-will position is responsible for managing staff of approximately 1,126 full-time employees with a 2018 operating budget of almost $233 million and a projected 2018 CIP budget of approximately $347 million. The ideal candidate will be a business-minded individual who not only understands the technical aspects of the sewerage and water activities but can also communicate complex technical or politically sensitive concepts to a broad range of audiences in a persuasive and articulate manner.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including 3 years in a senior executive management capacity, preferably including experience leading a large municipal government, business, or enterprise experience. Residency within City Limits is required. The salary range for this position is from $215,000 to $295,000 per year (DOQ). SWBNO also offers an excellent benefits package including a retirement plan.
