The incumbent, reporting to the SVP Supply Chain is accountable for leading QA/QC corporately, acting as the guardian of QA & QC best practices, ensuring customer QA/QC expectations are met and aligned with the Corporate Directional Plan and MIP beliefs
Support efforts in improving customer experiences by ensuring the corporate implementation and monitoring of QA & QC best practices, related metrics and processes, and promptly following up on QA/QC quality concerns
Manage the quality team, ensuring strong performance management, SMART goals aligned with corporate Supply chain plans and development of employees in line with current and future needs.
Keep the management team well informed of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Act as the point of contact about QA-QC issues, leading and facilitating QA-QC problem-solving activities within and across department functions through root cause analysis and proper documentation.
Strong analytic & mathematics mindset with experience developing mathematic models. Has a statistical problem approach to prove root causes using 5 Why’s, Cause/Effect Diagrams, 8D, 5 Phase, Root Cause, Six Sigma, etc.
10 years + QA/QC management experience
5 years experience in world-class standard companies including experience with Asian factories
Strong project management experience, completing projects on time and within budget
Demonstrated leadership abilities. Excellent performance management and trainer of best practices
Capacity to gain trust and work respectfully with colleagues in a matrix environment as well as with laterals.
Responds effectively to difficult customer situations
Speaks and writes clearly (English a must, French and mandarin an asset) and persuasively
Review and correlate quality data across all phases of product lifecycle (supplier, manufacturing, customer, field, etc.).
Support manufacturing team in all phases of QA-QC activities
Implement the First Piece Report process, Pre-Production Approval Process and Pre-Shipment Inspection process with manufacturers and suppliers
Oversee the process of random inspections of incoming product using Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) and Cp-Cpk capability studies.
Oversee MIP laboratory tests and customer lab tests the ensuing best practices are implemented
Review data obtained during all quality assurance activities to confirm consistency with company policies and procedures.
