The City of Cedar Falls is seeking Civil Engineer II candidates. Duties may involve professional civil engineering work including, but not limited to, entry to complex design of various projects, preparing cost estimates, drafting specifications and collecting site data; preparing, interpreting, and participating in various surveys and construction projects and field adjustments; preparing computerized drawings and performing various engineering calculations and project quantities for payment; to respond to inquiries regarding code compliance and complaints; and to provide staff support to the City and Principal Engineers. Candidates must have the ability to operate computer aided drafting software and have knowledge of construction and civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
Candidates must also have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with major course work in civil engineering or related field; possession of, or ability to obtain, a State of Iowa Engineering Intern Certificate or State of Iowa Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred; a minimum of 0-2 years of technical engineering experience; and a valid driver’s license with good driving record. Post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen also required. Full-time benefit package is available and salary will be dependent upon candidate qualifications. Salary range: $58,094-94,390.
