Accountable for developing force account estimates, budgets and schedules for Track Capital Projects to ensure work is done within budget and meets the scope of work. Develops bid specifications, manages contracts and controls the budget for specialized track work and other right of way maintenance task. Knowledgeable of overall railroad operations. Knowledgeable of switch and turnout repair, rehabilitation and construction and the materials and equipment associated with the work. Knowledgeable in railroad procedures for maintenance of right-of-ways, track structures, etc
Required Education/Experience: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and/or related field. Demonstrated equivalent education, experience and/or technical credentials may be considered in lieu of degree to include two years of additional related experience. Minimum two (2) years' progressively responsible experience in track and right-of-way environment, which includes constructing and rehabilitating track structures and their components (i.e., switch and interlocking) and supervising labor and/or professional staff. Project management experience with adherence to safety standards, budgets and deadlines.
