The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position (R96928) at the rank of assistant or associate professor, beginning August 2019, in any area of civil engineering. This is an interdisciplinary position that will support existing programs in the Department of Construction Management & Civil and Construction Engineering in the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology (http://ualr.edu/eit/) such as civil and construction engineering, architectural and construction engineering, and environmental engineering.

The successful applicant will be expected to: (1) develop and teach undergraduate engineering courses and labs in at least two of the following areas: transportation, environmental, structural, geotechnical, or construction, (2) coordinate with industry sponsors on senior design projects, (3) be actively involved in student activities, (4) engage in professional development activities, and (5) perform other duties as assigned. Participation in graduate education is possible via an M.S. program in Construction Management and a Ph.D. program in Engineering Science and Systems.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must: (1) hold an earned doctorate in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (ABD applicants may be considered if all degree requirements are completed before employment begins), (2) obtain a professional engineer (PE) license in Arkansas within one year after employment begins, (3) hold an undergraduate engineering degree from a program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, and (4) communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
Preferred Requirements: Applicants should: (1) have at least four years of U.S. design or construction industry experience in either the private or public sector, (2) hold, or previously have held, a professional engineer (PE) license within the U.S., (3) hold advanced certification or licensure appropriate to their specialty area, and (4) for the rank of associate professor, have at least six years of full-time undergraduate engineering teaching experience and a record of scholarship appropriate to the rank.
