The mission of the Project Manager is to provide leadership and planning to our Industrial Group ensuring that our deliverables are produced profitably and with the required level of quality.
Prepare initial proposal in conjunction with Director or Principal
Ensure that the standard project procedure to support SMBH Quality is followed
Plan the project with respect to resources, milestone dates, and project budget
Maintain positive client relationships
Identify scope changes and create any appropriate additional services proposals
Provide QA/QC reviews of the work product at milestones and intervals as discussed during project kickoff
Monitor financial health of the project and communicate financial issues with team members when appropriate
Review and provide direction on monthly project invoices to our clients and from our consultants
May serve as Engineer of Record for managed projects
In addition to managing individual projects, the Project Manager will also manage a group of engineers. Responsible for career development of group members including performance reviews and performance management. Identify group member experience levels and provide appropriate guidance/mentorship throughout the course of the project. Responsible for the distribution of workload and allocation of resources to group members
Maintain contact with past clients and support overall company business development
Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from an ABET accredited institution
Minimum of 8+ years of experience creating structural designs in materials such as steel, concrete and masonry. Experience with Industrial facilities a plus
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing smaller scale projects under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team
Ability to lead and support multiple people on multiple projects
Registered Professional Engineer “PE” recognized by a state licensing board
Excellent communications skills/writing skills
Flexible and easily adapts to changing priorities with an ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Familiar with Deltek Vision software planning module is a plus
