As part of the Engineering division, the Project Manager is responsible for managing capital projects and ensuring projects are completed on time and on schedule. The Project Manager manages consulting engineers, sub-consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors in the design and construction of capital projects and provides engineering technical support to project consultants regarding project design, scheduling, construction methods, and information related to facility and equipment needs. The Project Manager also provides project information to the CFPUA Board as required, administers contracts including reviewing and issuing correspondence, transmittals, and contract payments and amendments as well as negotiate with consultants and contractors regarding problems that occur during the design and construction of capital projects. The Project Manager provides supporting data and expertise for communication and public relations activities related to the groundbreaking, construction, and dedication of Authority capital projects and will ensure that field construction adheres to safety and environmental requirements and construction industry best practices. Additionally, the Project Manager will oversee non-capital projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager including chairing committees, participating on review groups, and issuing recommendations regarding project design and construction.
The position requires a Bachelor degree, and four (4) years of work experience and a valid State of North Carolina driver's license. An Engineer in Training/Fundamentals or Engineering certification is preferred. An Engineer-Intern certification or Professional Engineer certification is preferred. This work requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and this work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The position is a pay range 33 with a hiring range of $61,390-$70,720. Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity.
