William J. Miller Engineers, Inc. invites qualified individuals to apply for the vacant full-time Water Resource Engineer position on our staff. We prefer candidates with 1-3 years’ experience in hydraulic design, hydrologic science, modeling, surface water supply, groundwater development, water rights administration, river channel stabilization and restoration, floodplain analysis and GIS mapping. This individual will work collaboratively with other engineers in a team environment providing engineering design for an interesting variety of water resource projects.
Applicants must have:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
At least 1-3 years’ experience.
An PE license or ability to obtain within one year.
Experience with environmental and water resources regulatory agencies.
Experience with management of construction projects.
A desire to work in a small firm with varied client base.
A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Possess good writing, verbal communication, and personal skills.
Ability to perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for rivers and drainage systems.
Prepare reports, studies and designs related to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
Prepare civil design plans, specifications, and construction documents for water resource projects.
Proficiency in the use of HEC-RAS, Storm CAD, ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.
Ability to work over 40 hours per week when necessary.
Willingness to travel into remote areas and the physical ability to traverse difficult terrain on foot or in boat and navigate by map and compass or hand-held gps.
