Job Summary: This is professional engineering work in civil engineering projects.
Job duties include:
Prepares, oversee, and certifies the preparation of analyses and designs for civil engineering projects; attends project team meetings and serves as the design-engineering representative; prepares and/or reviews scope of work for contracted consultant services.
Directs and certifies the preparation of engineering drawings; provides guidance and technical assistance to assigned designers and technicians; assists engineers and associates in the use of graphic design software packages.
Develops, oversees, and certifies the preparation of construction specifications; provides training and technical assistance to assigned engineers.
Provides construction phase services including periodic inspections, review of contractor submittals, revisions to drawings and specifications as required, preparation of reports, and project correspondence.
Performs, reviews, and oversees the preparation of construction cost estimates for District projects; reviews material takeoffs prepared by engineering associates.
Performs site investigations and inspections for project design, construction, and operation; obtains field measurements, documents observations, and prepares inspection reports.
Performs technical review for both District and consultant design documents; specifically reviews project plans, specifications, cost estimates, contract documents, and prepares technical design recommendations for engineers.
Base Salary: $57,678.40

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, and registration by the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer.

About St Johns River Water Management District
Florida is divided into five water management districts to preserve and manage Florida’s precious water resources. The St. Johns River Water Management District is responsible for managing groundwater and surface water resources in all or part of 18 counties in northeast and east?central Florida. Counties entirely in the district are Brevard, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Nassau, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns and Volusia. Counties partially in the district are Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Lake, Marion, Okeechobee, Orange and Osceola. District staff work from service centers in Palatka, Jacksonville, Maitland and Palm Bay.
