Position will be responsible for supervising, organizing, and conducting genetic nurseries and field trials at UNL research farm sites. Position will train and organize summer field assistants and conduct field work in the summers (usually about three months on). With initial direction from principal investigator, position independently designs field layouts, planting schedules, pesticide applications, and plan for ongoing maintenance to ensure research goals are met and results are valid. Position strategically deploys limited labor resources to ensure that all projects are maintained to the necessary standards for optimal research success. Will assist with lab management and administrative activities to support extramural/intramural projects. Maintain records and spreadsheets of historical and current year phenotypic data.
