The Cardiac Systems Engineering Lab is seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers to join our team’s exciting efforts related to cardiac tissue remodeling and personalized medicine. Our group is building computational models of biochemical reaction networks across multicellular populations as well as experimental tissue culture bioreactors in order to better understand the complex bio-chemo-mechano-systems that regulate heart tissue structure. By combining computational modeling, data science, and in vitro screening tools, our mission is to engineer personalized medicine approaches for combatting cardiac disease.
Collaborating closely with Dr. Richardson and students in our group, future postdoctoral researchers will work in one of the following areas:
Computational approaches to infer cell regulatory networks from spatial expression data
Computational approaches for personalized heart failure therapy selection
Experimental in vitro models of cardiac remodeling for novel therapy screens
Competitive candidates should have a PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematical Biology, or a related field, as well as strong communication skills and demonstrated excellence in their previous research. Specific experience with one or more of the following is desired: regulatory networks, -omics analyses, agent-based modeling, machine learning, 3D cell culture, tissue remodeling.
