Position Overview: The General Manager will oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring the facility runs efficiently, meets regulatory standards, and delivers top-quality service to healthcare clients. This role will be responsible for managing staff, controlling budgets, ensuring safety and compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both laundry operations and the unique needs of healthcare institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and timely delivery of services to healthcare clients. Implement best practices for laundry processes, infection control, and quality standards.
Staff Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team, including plant managers, supervisors, and operational staff. Promote a positive workplace culture and high employee engagement with a professional approach with employees, coworkers, and customers.
Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with healthcare clients, ensuring their needs are met and service standards are consistently exceeded. Address any client concerns promptly and effectively.
Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the facility’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising service quality. Monitor financial performance, control costs, and seek opportunities to increase profitability.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards, including OSHA, HIPAA and the TRSA Hygienically Clean requirements. Regularly conduct audits and address any areas of non-compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Drive operational improvements by implementing new technologies, optimizing workflows, and promoting lean manufacturing practices. Regularly review performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve productivity and service quality.
Inventory and Supply Chain: Oversee inventory management and procurement to ensure an uninterrupted supply of linens, chemicals, and other essential materials.
Customer Service Excellence: Foster a customer-centric approach, ensuring all processes and staff are aligned to meet the specific needs of healthcare clients.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Management, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
8-10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role in a healthcare, laundry, or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including infection control, OSHA standards, and other relevant compliance requirements.
Proven experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage conflict effectively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Outstanding communication and client relationship skills.
Proficiency in relevant software tools and management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing large-scale laundry operations, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
