ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Works under the general direction of the Traffic Engineering Administrator/City Traffic Engineer.  Plans, designs and supervises the completion of a variety of traffic engineering projects requiring the use of advanced techniques and the application of engineering practices, procedures and criteria related to various traffic engineering subjects such as traffic signals, pavement markings, traffic signage, traffic impact studies, traffic signal timing, traffic data collection and analysis, ROW permitting, collision analysis, traffic calming, ADA accommodations, intelligent transportation systems, parking meter system operation and maintenance, etc.  Supervises engineers and technicians on assigned work, reviews work, estimates personnel n
