 The  Plumbing Designer  serves to focus primarily on the design of building-related projects, including educational campuses, military bases, healthcare facilities, hotels, apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, and more using Revit and AutoCAD software. 
 In this role, you will:  
 
 Design plumbing drawings for various building types 
 Develop system design calculations and select equipment for use in buildings including sump pumps, sewage ejectors, water heating systems, water booster stations, etc. 
 Preparation of detailed design documents 
 Specification writing/editing 
 Code compliance research 
 Collaborate with various team members for coordinating services with other disciplines 
 Site surveys to determine existing conditions 
 Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews and RFI responses 
 You will be a great fit if you have:  
 
 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing design for various types of facilities 
 Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office software 
 Bachelor&#39;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (a plus but not required) 
 EIT / PE a plus but not required 
 Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and experience in a broad spectrum of building types

 Summary

 Reviews all phases of a variety of infrastructure, capital improvement, and private development projects, including utilities, grading, drainage, streets, sidewalks, curb and gutter, drive approaches, playgrounds, irrigation systems, and other public works-related construction. 
 Maintains and revises City infrastructure standards and specifications. 
 Plans, drafts, designs, and recommends construction and maintenance of City streets, curbs, sidewalks, ADA requirements, traffic signals, signs and pavement markings, drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, water systems, and other related public improvement based on City codes, regulations, and professional standards. 
 Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within the prescribed budget, and are constructed to the required quality standards. 
 Administers professional service contracts, including managing professional services, and reviewing and approving construction contract documents, contract amendments and additional work claims. 
 Reviews submittals for compliance with City specifications. 
 Performs project management and contract administration activities for City projects, such as generating or reviewing pay estimates, measuring quantities, and drafting change orders. 
 Schedules and conducts pre-bid, pre-construction and progress meetings with contractors, consultants, and staff to answer questions and resolve issues. 
 Reviews progress payments and change orders. 
 Prepares quantity and cost estimates of proposed City projects. 
 Notifies property owners of property impacts and construction schedules of projects and resolves property owner and citizen complaints and concerns about projects. 
 Oversees inspection oversight for the construction of contracted public works projects and infrastructure constructed through private development to ensure contractor compliance with plans and specifications for each project. 
 Prepares or reviews record drawings and associated documentation of completed projects. 
 
 Other Duties 
 
 Provides technical review of private development and subdivision design plans, reports, construction, and ensures adherence to City standards, regulations, and code. 
 Provides technical review of traffic impact studies and performs traffic analyses   for City Street networks. 
 Prepares easements and legal descriptions and performs technical drafting. 
 Coordinates, maintains, and assists with City geographic information systems (GIS) data collection, water, wastewater, and storm water modeling, utility permitting, and reporting, transportation network data management, and water rights. 
 Responds to citizen and community concerns and inquiries, in accordance with City policies, regulations, and ordinances. 
 Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, developers, contractors, utility companies, and members of the general public. 
 Attends evening meetings as required; occasionally travels out of town to attend workshops, conferences, seminars, and meetings during work and non-work hours as assigned; regularly modifies regular schedule to accommodate construction schedules. 
 May assist Staff Engineer and Construction Inspector with field work. 
 Provides technical support to other City departments. 
 Performs other related duties as assigned or required. 
 
 Minimum Required Qualifications (Education, Experience and Training): 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, or another relevant field; and 
 A minimum of five (5) years of civil engineering experience, including a combination of design of municipal infrastructure and construction management; and 
 A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience; and 
 A Professional Engineer (PE) License is required at the time of hire. Must have the ability to obtain a Montana Professional Engineer&#8217;s License within 6 months of employment; or 
 Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work may be considered. 
 
 Preferred Qualifications: 
 
 A Professional Engineer License is required at the time of hire, and a Montana Professional Engineer License must be obtained within six months of employment.

 Job Description 
 As a member of the Architect and Engineering Support (AES) team, this Facilities Electrical Engineer will work on multiple projects concurrently at NLR&#39;s two main research campuses: South Table Mountain Campus (STM) and Flatirons Campus (FC). The engineer will provide power distribution designs, use associated electrical modeling software, and assist other engineers, project managers, and the facilities CAD team to ensure that the project electrical design and associated construction documentation conform to NLR&#39;s requirements and applicable building codes. The primary role of the Facility Electrical Engineer is to be the subject matter expert for all infrastructure electrical systems at NLR. 
 The engineer will work collaboratively with stakeholders across NLR on a portfolio of electrical projects ranging from substations, to laboratory space, to traditional office space. The AES team consists of professional architects; mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and civil engineers; CAD operators; and cost estimators providing in-house support for NLR as part of the larger Site Operations center. 
 While project work on both research campuses is anticipated, this position is based in Golden at the STM Campus. The successful candidate can expect a hybrid work environment with the expectation of 50% on-site work at STM, and 50% work from home. 
 Responsibilities: 
 Campus Planning 
 
 Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop scope definition, statements of work, and cost estimates for projects requiring electrical engineering review and other assistance. 
 Contribute to the electrical engineering team with regular updates to Design Guidelines, Master Construction Specifications, and engineering best practices related to electrical engineering. 
 Collaborate with researchers to define project scope and budget for future project requests.

 Project Support

This work is highly technical and requires an understanding of principles and practices of engineering, methods of design and construction, as well as federal, state, and local laws regarding engineering. This position will ensure the City understands the status of current pavement, floodgate, and bridge infrastructure and will identify paths forward to prioritize, identify funding, and maintain infrastructure to not only ensure an operational transportation system but to limit City liability and risk related to the condition of infrastructure.&#xa0; The ideal candidate will have a background in planning, policies, and management of assets, including pavement, floodgates, and bridges. They will also have experience coordinating with partner departments and agencies, including departments of utilities, utility companies, communication companies, and street construction companies. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and have the ability to manage and navigate change and political environments. Under general direction, the Senior Engineer participates in the conduct of complicated civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical engineering planning, design, construction, maintenance/operation, plan review, assessment, and regulatory activities; develops plans; inspects sites and assists in problem resolution; coordinates engineering related activities with other City departments and outside agencies; conducts engineering planning studies; conducts plan reviews; and prepares grant applications. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This advanced journey-level class is populated with multiple incumbents. Senior Engineers perform the most complex professional civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical engineering work requiring a substantial level of professional training. Incumbents may also lead professional and technical personnel on a team or project basis. Assignments require the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in scheduling, assigning, and coordinating work with that of other units, referring only unusual or highly-complex problems. Senior Engineer is distinguished from Supervising Engineer in that the latter manages broad professional engineering categories, such as electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, environmental, traffic, water, drainage, wastewater, or sanitation. The classification of Senior Engineer is distinguished from that of Associate Civil Engineer in that the former serves as project or team leader and performs the most complex and highly skilled engineering work while the latter is the journey level in the registered engineer series. 
 
 
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Develop plans and estimates work orders for the construction of public works and capital improvement projects and programs (including public buildings, transportation infrastructure, public spaces, and public services); inspects project sites; assists in solution of difficult engineering problems; interprets specifications and City policy; makes change orders. 
 Participates in the selection and management of consultant engineers for the development of plans and specifications, studies and reports; reviews plans for construction prepared by private engineers. 
 Provides direct supervision over lower level staff including assigning, directing, training, and evaluating subordinate staff; performs evaluations; and recommends discipline. 
 Checks computations and specified materials for accuracy and conformance with regulations; reviews and makes recommendations on technical reports and studies. 
 Initiates and conducts engineering planning studies to identify public works facilities; reviews and participates in the preparation of environmental assessments and studies; prepares project status reports; and checks private building plans for compliance with City building codes and ordinances. 
 Serves as staff to a variety of City commissions, boards, and committees on various engineering matters; and coordinates engineering related activities with other City departments, divisions, and sections and with outside agencies. 
 Develops and implements environmental regulatory programs; and analyzes water quality data and prepares regulatory reports as applicable. 
 Prepares various applications for state and federal grants; assists in the preparation and administration of budget and capital improvement plans. 
 Within City guidelines, recommends and selects contractors; oversees contractor work. 
 Manages and/or participates in the preparation of complex engineering studies and reports related to public works and capital improvement projects. 
 Provides structural plan review for the most complex development projects and confirms construction documents comply with all code requirements; evaluates alternate materials, design, and methods of construction requests; and establishes schedules and methods for planning, design, construction, rehabilitation, and operation/maintenance. 
 Provides technical advice and assistance to City staff. 
 Participates in budget preparation and administration; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for services, labor, materials and related resources for public works projects and/or programs; monitors and controls expenditures. 
 Oversees, reviews, and participates in preparation of environmental assessments and studies related to City and private projects; meets with developers to discuss projects or to resolve design issues; and reviews new development plans. 
 Prepares and presents information to City Council and various commissions.

 The Director of Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Engineering is responsible for managing and providing overall direction to staff who maintain, operate, and upgrade facilities at the NCI (National&#xa0;Cancer Institute) Frederick, including Government owned and leased, as well as contract leased,&#xa0;research laboratory, clinical laboratory, animal facility, cGMP (clinical Good Manufacturing Practices)&#xa0;development / production, and administrative space.

 Facilities &#38; Infrastructure Management 
 
 Function as a central point of contact with the NCI Project Operations representatives (engineering and scientific programs) regarding strategy, planning and execution of facilities related projects 
 Lead facilities master planning and capital improvement initiatives assigned 
 Manage design, planning, construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrade projects assigned, including and not limited to:
 
 Plan, budget and schedule facility modi?cations including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs 
 Forecast and manage expense and capital budgets, formulating and developing program plans, goals and objectives; evaluating and interpreting program results; and proving functional guidance to responsible managers

 Oversee in-house and contracted skilled trades (e.g., electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, carpenters) within assigned remit 
 Ensure rapid response to system failures and minimize operational disruptions 
 Manage and be accountable for the organization&#8217;s input to the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) 
 
 Janitorial / Custodial Services 
 
 Oversee custodial operations for offices, laboratories, and controlled environments

The  Director  is responsible for the leadership, planning, and operation of the Town&#8217;s public works and utility systems, including water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, solid waste services, and the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and stormwater infrastructure. The department has an adopted FY2026 budget of $4.6M. 
 The  Director  leads capital improvement planning and execution, including development and annual updates to the Town&#8217;s 5&#8211;10-year Capital Improvement Plan, and provides leadership for major operational and system improvements across the department. Responsibilities for the next  Director  include establishing performance goals; developing and managing operating and capital budgets; and ensuring staff are trained and supported to work safely and efficiently.  Salary and Benefits 
 The expected hiring range for the position is $107,000&#8211;$110,000, with a full salary range of $89,678&#8211;$125,550, depending on qualifications. A 5% pay increase is provided upon successful completion of six months of service. The Town provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance; Local Government Employees Retirement System (LGERS) contribution; annual vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
