Description
The Texas A&M University School of Engineering Medicine (ENMED) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the instructional assistant, associate, or professor level. ENMED is a collaborative venture among Texas A&M College of Medicine (COM), Texas A&M College of Engineering (COE) and Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH). ENMED graduates receive a MD degree and a Master of Engineering in four years. This first-in-the-nation program blends experiential learning in engineering innovation with medical school training to create a new kind of physician, a “physicianeer” with the goal of transforming health care. ENMED is located in Houston’s Texas Medical Center (TMC).
The successful applicant will work with ENMED faculty in the development of a blended engineering and medicine curriculum. He/she will work alongside the EnMed engineering, basic science, and clinical faculty in the development of medical cases; advise and mentor EnMed (MD/MEng) students in pursuit of their innovation portfolios; participate in all aspects of the EnMed department’s innovation activities (maker space, entrepreneurship); and will assist in teaching engineering and, to a lesser extent, medical courses.
Applicants should consult the department’s website to review our academic and research programs (https://enmed.tamu.edu/).
